ITEMA System Specifications and Technical Data

Tap Log-Files

The ITEMA System is designed to automatically create a log file of each monitored tapping sequence.  This log file is stored on the systems hard disk and contains the following information.

  1. Date and time of tapping

  2. Analysis algorithm and set-up values

  3. slag alarm settings

  4. Tap start time, tap duration and tap ending time

  5. Conditions at the start of tapping

  6. Slag indications and display summaries for the entire tap

  7. Percentage of slag in stream

  8. Slag alarm status

  9. Stream visibility

  10. Selected stored graphic images during each tap

  11. As an option, the tilt angle, charge-number, heat-number, steel grade and tap temperature can also be logged

The off-line analysis of the log files provides a powerful tool for product quality discussions and for evaluation of furnace operator performance.

The system can store approximately 12 weeks of continuous data.  It is also possible to direct the data to a LEVEL II computer via a network connection.

System Output Signals

The system provides the following digital output for interface to the customer's equipment:

  1. Start of Tap

  2. Slag Alarm

  3. Slag Warning

  4. Tap Stopped by Operator

  5. System OK

  6. Camera Connection Failure

  7. Camera Housing Temperature Out of Range

  8. No Air Flow to Camera
